Uninstall

Terminal window
backmesh uninstall [--yes] [--delete-checkpoint-bucket] [--confirm <name-or-id>]

It runs from any machine with Docker and your cloud sign-ins, and asks before deleting anything. It says how many jobs are running: those jobs fail. Pass --yes to run it without a terminal.

In order, it:

  1. Has the listener stop taking jobs, remove its runners, and delete its scale sets, runner group and the App’s installation.
  2. Stops the listener.
  3. Deletes the runner pools, then anycloud’s API, its management VM and its DNS name.
  4. Prints the link to delete the GitHub App in your org’s settings, which GitHub only lets you do in the browser.

The checkpoint bucket holds the API’s backups, and deleting it ends any restore. uninstall deletes it only when you agree and type the anycloud cluster’s name or ID, or, without a terminal, with --delete-checkpoint-bucket and --confirm <name-or-id>. --yes alone never deletes it.

The anycloud release backmesh pins today can’t delete the cluster and keep the bucket, so uninstall stops before deleting anything unless you pass --delete-checkpoint-bucket.

If the API doesn’t answer, uninstall deletes nothing and says to run it again once it does.
