Terms of service

These terms cover the use of the backmesh CLI, listener and runner images (“backmesh”) and the subscription that pays for it.

backmesh is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms, you may install and run the published binaries and images for your own organization’s CI. The source isn’t published. You may not redistribute, resell or sublicense backmesh, or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law allows it regardless of this term.

Each install sends one event per job started, as described in Telemetry. We use it to count jobs for billing and for nothing else.

  • A tier caps the jobs started over a rolling 30 days. The Free tier needs no subscription.
  • Going over your tier’s cap only warns, in backmesh status. It never blocks a job.
  • If a subscription is unpaid after Stripe’s retries, its orgs can’t run backmesh upgrade until it’s paid. Jobs never stop, and nothing else changes.
  • An org links to at most one subscription, through GitHub sign-in by one of its admins. An enterprise link covers its orgs. An org can’t be unlinked while its subscription is unpaid.
  • You can change tier or cancel in the customer portal. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for; the orgs then return to the Free tier.

backmesh runs in your own cloud accounts, which bill you directly. We have no access to them.

backmesh is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
